I would like formally introduce our Art Historian extraordinaire, Piergiacomo Petrioli. A close friend, mentor and collaborator for the past twelve years, Piergiacomo is one of the most astute and erudite scholars I know. With two Ph.D’s and an encyclopedic knowledge of Italian art, his walking tour of Florence injects a mind-blowing burst of inspiration into our workshop. In one day alone we will see seventeen marble sculptures of Michelangelo, along with masterpieces by Donatello, Bernini, Luca and Andrea della Robbia, Giambologna, Verrocchio, Desiderio da Settignano, and many others. Every participant Piergiacomo has guided over the past decade considers his field trip a major highlight in the Tuscany Study course. Not to mention the fact that he’s a delightful human being…we’re truly grateful to have him on our team. Read more about him here.
